You absolutely have to take the time to set up your room edges and interference zones in the Aqara app before trying to use the created sensors in HomeKit.

but to get the most out of it you will want to bind it to Aqara home app.You really need to set up your zones in the Aqara app before you start messing with it in Homekit.

How to add Presence Sensor FP2 to Home Assistant?

this sensor integrated into Home Assistant via the homekit integration and detect VERY quickly.

Here's the process that worked fine for me using iOS and Home Assistant:
- Setup the sensor in the Aqara app
- Skip all prompts and immediately update the firmware
- After firmware update, skip the auto-calibration but make sure to select the "zone detection" option if prompted
- Leave the room completely, make sure all other people and pets are gone as well
- Go into the sensor, click settings > more settings > reset absent state. This will reset the empty room threshold and GREATLY helped me with false readings
- Stand still in a critical point in the room (like the room corner or corner of your island)
- Back out of the sensor live view
- Re-enter the sensor live view
- Now you have a position of your location, mark it and begin creating your zone/edge/interference source, etc.
- Repeat that process of moving to critical locations in the room, leave/re-enter the sensor live view, then edit your zone(s)
- After your zones are all completed DO NOT move your sensor at all. You will lose all that zone creation progress. I just marked the hinges and magnet plate with a sharpie to retain the positioning in case I lose it.
- Go into the Apple Home app, select the room you put the sensor in during pairing from the Aqara app.
- Click on one of the presence sensors up to, it will appear as multiple presence sensors (based on how many zones you created)
- Click remove from home

Now the sensor will be visible to Home Assistant as a newly discovered device you can pair. Each zone will be exposed as an entity as well but they will be unlabeled. One of the entities will be like an "all occupancy" detection, then the rest will be the zones you created.
